Derek Spieker was born in the San Francisco Bay Area and raised in California’s Central Valley. Inspired by the renewal of traditional art education, he began his artistic training at the Sadie Valeri Atelier in 2015. He now works as an Assistant Instructor in the classical program, helping introduce students to classical drawing and painting techniques. He has received scholarships from the Portrait Society of America and the Figurative Art Convention & Expo, where he was profiled in Fine Art Connoisseur:
